Sprint Term 2 Curriculum
Our topic for Spring term 2 is 'Pizza toppings'. In English we will be continuing with our Castle topic writing for a few weeks, we will then move on to instructional writing as we plant many exciting things!
In Maths this term we shall explore fractions, money and finally geometry. (Homework on Prodigy each week will link to this)
In Science we are going to get green fingered! Year 2 will be planting lots of exciting vegetables in our growing patches. We will learn all about how to look after plants and we will document this in our Plant diaries!
In P.E the children will be developing more of their skills through Invasion games. They will also be practising their 'sending and receiving' skills.
We have an R.E day planned - Date will be confirmed once we are back at school.
Spring Term 1 Curriculum
Our topic for this term is 'Castles, turrets and tunnels'. We will continue to inspire the children's writing through a range of fiction and non-fiction texts.
In Maths we will be learning about 2d and 3d shapes, calculations, fractions and also money.
Our Enquiry learning will explore the different parts of a castle and what castle life was like; attack and defence, banquets and job roles of those who live in a castle.
In Science we will be learning about animals (including humans). We will cover growing and changing, basic needs, healthy eating and keeping clean.
This term in PE the children will be developing their skills in Gymnastics and also Team building.
