Welcome to Year 4!
Welcome to year four. Your child will either be in Miss Molloy's or Mrs Goodall classes, supported by Mrs Edwards and Mrs Burrows. You're welcome to browse both pages, which we will keep updated with news on our fantastic learning and upcoming events.
Key information in Year Four:
Monday 4th September: PD Day
Tuesday 5th September: PD Day
Wednesday 6th September: Autumn Term Starts
Monday 23rd October: Half Term
English and Maths homework is given on a Friday and is expected back on Wednesday. In addition to this, children will also have a weekly times tables and spelling test. All information for homework and tests will be placed in the children's homework diaries. It is expected that parents will sign their child's homework diary each week to acknowledge that homework has been received.
Children will also receive a half termly project that will be given to the children with at least three weeks to complete.
The books in our school library are arrangd in alphabetical order. Children can pick both non-fiction and fiction books that interest them - and teachers will only guide children in their picking when it is appropriate.
It is expected that children read at home, and it is always helpful for children to read with a parent or guardian where the adult can then question the child on what they have read. Feel free to write a comment in their homework diary to indicate you have read with your child.
PE and Swimming:
Children need to bring their PE kit into school every Wednesday and Friday for their PE lessons.
Children will go swimming in the final term. This with be on alternate Thursday's for each class.
