At Elm Tree we have developed a curriculum for Design Technology that leads with the development of life skills such as cooking/nutrition and the use of textiles.  These skills are developed each year with children building on skills and knowledge in our spiral curriculum.  We use our curriculum mantra 'I know that so now I can learn this' in all our planning and sequencing.

We build in investigations of structures, mechanism, electrical systems and the digital world throughout both key stages.  

Each year group has 4 DT challenges across the school year.  We use Kapow Primary as supporting materials to enable all our teachers to 'specialists' allowing pupils to achieve great outcomes.
