Hartley - Y4

Hartley

An update on Hartley Moore's external sports. He's recently started parkour.

He's also had some success on his new road bike, claiming 2nd place in the u8s race last weekend, in the last round of Colchester Centurion circuit series.

He's only been using an adult bike for 6 weeks. Due to his age, gears are restricted low, but he still averaged over 16mph, and hit 22mph in a sprint.

He was assisted by Ashton (his older brother), working together to beat the wind. They came 9th and 10th overall, as u8s and u10s share the track, but Hartley was 2nd u8 rider home, and beat many u10s.

He's also now using a small adults mountain bike, which took him all of 5 minutes seat time before he was jumping it.

Jayden - Reception

Jayden has been playing football for his team and has shown excellent sportsmanship when doing so. When team mates were upset about not scoring a goal, Jayden said to his team "it's not about scoring goals, it's about taking part!"

These are excellent values to have when participating in any sport, well done Jayden. Below he is pictured with his coach John.

Jake, Kai & Harley - Year 4

Above, you will find a photo of Jake, Kai and Harley after winning the Norfolk and Suffolk Youth League U10s Plate. The boys are playing up an age group, so to achieve this is absolutely incredible! The boys work hard every week and everyone is proud of them. Well done boys!

Lucy - Year 5

Lucy

When Lucy was 6 years old (2018), Max Tennis Club, from Beccles, provided a 'Tennis Taster Session' at Elm Tree Primary School. Lucy, having never played tennis before, was issued with a special invitation letter to join their Performance Tennis Team. Lucy still trains with Max Tennis and since the age of 7 she has represented Norfolk County Tennis Team, currently playing 10U and training with 11U Team.

Lucy has achieved to date: 5 Gold Medals 6 Silver Medals and a Silver Trophy 4 Bronze Medals

Over the Easter holidays, Lucy travelled to Cambridge to attend 10U Singles Grade 3 Tournament, winning 2 out of 4 matches.

Lucy also enjoys her Athletics training at Waveney Valley 11U group. She attended a tournament over the Easter holidays with her friends from Elm Tree Primary at UEA in Norwich and came third in her group for 80m running. She also enjoyed competing in shot put.

This weekend (wb: 25.04.2022) she will be travelling to Hertfordshire playing both Saturday and Sunday for Norfolk County Tennis 10U Team Event. We have our fingers crossed 🤞. Well done and good luck Lucy!

Ashton - Year 6 & Hartley - Year 4

Ashton + Hartley

It has been an incredibly busy, yet impressive start to 2022 for Ashton and Hartley! They have competed in many events and had fantastic results:

- Horsford XC series (Running):

Ashton finished an impressive 1st, 3rd and 4th (even with a shoe related delay!). These results confirmed Ashton as the Under 11 series champion!

Hartley managed to finish in 3rd, 5th and 6th. Meaning Hartley finished 2nd in the series - his consistency in finishing helped him climb the leader board!

- Suffolk Country X-C Championships (Run):

Ashton finished at the 16th under 11's male. Very impressive!

- Crank It East X-C Race (X-C Mountain Bike):

Both boys competed in the under 10's competition with Ashton finishing in 3rd and Hartley in 4th.

United Canine Sports New Years Rally (Canicross):

This is something that I had personally not heard of myself and will ensure I speak to Ashton about as it looks fascinating. Ashton finished his new year rally for the under 10's in 2nd place.

Ashton has also run, Hunny Bell U14 race; both boys competed in a mountain bike enduro, as well as numerous parkruns.

He was assisted by Ashton, working together to beat the wind. They came 9th and 10th overall, as u8s and u10s share the track, but Hartley was 2nd u8 rider home, and beat many u10s.

He's also now using a small adults mountain bike, which took him all of 5 minutes seat time before he was jumping it.

towards the end of 2022, both Ashton and Hartley competed in the junior canicross 8-13 class at a new years sleddog rally.  It was a 2 day event, where they had to run a 3k course both days, and aggregate their times. Getting on the podium with 3rd in class. As for Hartley it was his first ever canicross event, so was happy with 5th place.

A fantastic sporting display from both young men. Well done to Ashton and Hartley!
