Year 5
In year 5 we have chosen to focus on one intense physical geography project. Building on our knowledge of place we focus on extremes of geography - volcanoes, mountains and earthquakes and their impact on those areas.

Year 5’s first forage into physical geography. Children will be looking at mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes. As geographers they will be thinking and asking questions about how these features are formed; what types of people live near volcanoes and mountains – why? What impact do these features of the world have on people? What is a natural disaster and how does it affect people, communities and places after the event?
