PE at Elm Tree is an integral part of our curriculum. Our children receive 2 hours of PE each week and all children are encouraged to take part in extra-curricular clubs run by the school. We believe that children have sharper and more creative minds when they engage in physical activity. Therefore, we promote a PE curriculum which encompasses a wide variety of sports to make PE fun and exciting.
Students will not only gain physical skill, but also will learn and develop key social and psychological skills. These skills help children make better decisions and develop strong friendships.

Long Term Plan Overview
Last year we launched our Inter-House Cup competition, where the children compete in their houses in a variety of sports; these will typically be in-line with the subject they have been learning about that half term. This was a great way for the children to still compete in competitions during the pandemic as most Inter-School competitions were postponed.
We plan to continue this competition alongside Inter-School competitions after excellent enthusiasm from the children.
1st place: 4 points
2nd place: 3 points
3rd place: 2 points
4th place: 1 point
These points are then added to the house's overall total. The house with the most points at the end of the school year will win the cup!
